Build the contract. Test the meaning.

Response design, error handling, and testing guides for API integrations.

A response schema is the beginning of an integration contract, not its entire definition. Clients also need stable meanings, aggregation rules, recovery actions, and behavior for unknown future values. These guides connect those concerns so a well-formed response does not become a misleading interface state.

Read the error guide when designing the distinction between request failures and completed checks. Use the testing guide to create fixtures for missing context, partial results, stale responses, unsupported methods, and outages. Include the expected public message and next action beside each technical assertion.

The objective is an integration that remains understandable when dependencies change or the happy path does not apply. Keep observations separate from policy, and inspect the diagnostic data created during failures. Download the fictional examples and proposed contract from the documentation to support a team review.
